Yes, it's that time of year once again when good little coffee beans are snuggled in their beds, listening for the sound of sleighbells jingling in the night. Have YOU been a good little coffee bean this year? We certainly hope so because, if you have been good, you may hear more in the sky than just sleighbells. Press "Watch" and find out! MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY HOLIDAYS to all our…

Yes, we know the song title is actually "Werewolves of London," but Lumsden seemed more fitting, given the local Saskatchewan nature of the Echolands Creative Group feature film "WolfCop," (www.WolfCop.com). As the tag line says, it's like Dirty Harry...only hairier. WolfCop recently wrapped up principal photography in and around Regina and Moose Jaw. Both of which are not too terribly far from…

Shake it up, Baby...Twist and Shoot! With apologies to the Fab Four, we're just having too much fun with our latest production tool: the Java Post Steadi-Arm. Using the same solid, GPS stability that makes our Javacopter high-definition aerial footage so stunning and production-friendly, the versatile Java Post Steadi-Arm allows an operator to basically "fly" the camera along the ground, while…

Now wait just one minute! Okay...maybe two minutes. To speed your project along and capture "wow-worthy" visuals that will take your video, commercial, documentary or feature to a whole new level, the Java Post Javacopter is ready to fly in just two, count 'em, two minutes. Click on the golden "WATCH" link near the top of this page to view our latest Javacopter demo, where you'll see our…

Java Post Production recently rocked out on an animation-driven commercial for Regina's rock station, 104.9 The Wolf. This was one of several new spots we did for radio stations owned by Harvard Broadcasting. We also did new television and electronic billboard spots for The Wolf's sister station, MY92.1 FM, and 3 web commercials for X92.9 FM in Calgary. You can view those other commercials…

Java Post Production recently assisted CTV Saskatchewan in the creation of its news promotion campaign for Regina and Saskatoon. Our Java Post "Javacopter" and our Steadi-Arm unit were utlized to bring eye-catching perspectives to some of the shots used in the finished commercials. For example, in the CTV Regina promo, Javacopter images can be seen in the opening shot of the Legislature Building…

Never wanting to let any excuse for silly costumes and good food get by us, today was the annual Halloween Lunch at the Java Post Production offices. The scary menu reflected the dark side of some of the Java team. We're trying not to read too much into it, since we figure the required therapy (and potential forensic investigation) might take too much time. Better to just leave things alone, not…

Earlier today, we were very pleased to meet with some representatives from Transport Canada and NAV Canada at the Java Post Production offices. They were in town attending the Wings of Saskatchewan Conference & Trade Show, an annual, province-wide event organized by the Saskatchewan Aviation Council which brings together all areas of the aviation industry: commercial carriers,…

Java Post Production was pleased to attend the 2013 Wings of Saskatchewan Conference & Trade Show, which was recently held in Regina. Organized by the Saskatchewan Aviation Council, the Wings of Saskatchewan Conference & Trade Show is an annual, province-wide event bringing together all areas of the aviation industry: commercial carriers, agricultural aviation, private operators and…

Java Post Production is proud to have captured amazing images - both on the ground and in the air - to energize the new television, cinema and web campaign for SaskPower. In addition to great-looking ground-based scenes captured by our in-house Blackmagic camera, our skilled Javacopter crew provided director Tom Davidson with the perfect creative tool to turn the fast-paced concepts of The…

If you've witnessed the beautiful shots that Java Post Production is able to achieve using our "Java-Copter," you've probably admired the amazingly smooth stability of the footage. The Java-Copter can capture high definition footage in places that conventional aerial camera platforms cannot possibly go. However, there are still places where even the Java-Copter can't go (or at least shouldn't…

UPDATED WITH NEW VIDEO LINK. Java Post Production recently went underground at the Rabbit Lake uranium mine in northern Saskatchewan to shoot a safety video project for Thyssen Mining. "Safety" Dave Speerbrecker, the manager of safety for Thyssen Mining, approached Java Post with this very interesting project. Seven months ago, one of their underground mechanics, Greg Jaques, had been…

In a recent animated television commercial project for NOW Communications, Java Post Production animators Kevin Drysdale and Tomás Ibar took original 2-D drawings created by artist Sam Bradd and then used those to create 3-D animated characters. The final look was then refined so that the characters would retain some of the 2-D feel of Sam Bradd's original drawings. The…

We here at Java Post Production haven't had so much fun with a new production tool since we installed our fancy cappuccino machine. Our new mini helicopter (AKA "the Javacopter") allows us to capture amazing high-definition aerial images and go places that conventional helicopter-mounted cameras can't possibly go. (Or, at the very least, can't go without scaring the bejeezus out of the…
