In late April of 2015, Java Post Production worked with the Phoenix Group advertising agency to create TV and web commercials for the Mosaic Company.
This commercial would celebrate that company's current naming rights of the existing Canadian Football League stadium in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada...AND also give viewers a brief, teasing glimpse at the NEW "Mosaic Stadium," currently being constructed not far from the existing stadium and scheduled to open in 2017.
We knew that at least part of the footage for the TV commercial would be taken from the air so, as the sun was setting at the beginning of our scheduled 7:00 PM to 4:00 AM shoot night, our UAV (drone) company - Java Post Aerial Photography - did some short scouting flights over Mosaic Stadium. Here's a brief behind-the-scenes video of those short scouting flights, which, for the sake of speed and convenience, were done with our DJI Inspire 1 quadcopter UAV.
For the actual night aerial photography used in the final commercial, we used our DJI S900 hexacopter UAV, shooting 4K Ultra HD with a Panasonic GH4 camera and prime lenses.
