The Full "Indigenous Circle"

The new intro for CTV Saskatchewan's "Indigenous Circle" has taken its final shape and looks great!
You may remember us writing a blog post a while back at the very beginning of the process. Lead animator Kevin Drysdale was tasked with creating a fast-paced and visually appealing intro that involved a lot of key elements.
Full-sized Treaty flags were filmed in 4K at 96 frames per second while hanging from fishing line. The flags were then rippled by hand, with strategically placed fans, to simulate a natural breeze blowing a flag on a pole. Easy, right? Naturally, this required some experimentation and incredible acts of heroic fan-waving to achieve the desired result. In the end, Kevin had plenty of fluid slo-motion footage of all the Treaty flags to work with.
But the flags were only the start. Several stockshots of Saskatchewan were needed to round out the intro. A combination of creative freedom and excellent collaboration with the client allowed Kevin to edit together something that looks great. With 3D animated text and graphics, incorporated into live-action video, the new program intro hits you with a range of visuals that truly encompasses what "Indigenous Circle" is all about.
