This is the first of two 60-second commercials produced by Java Post Production for the 2016 Tourism Saskatchewan advertising campaign. This commercial showcases Prince Albert National Park in northern Saskatchewan, Canada.

Working with co-directors/co-directors of photography Greg Huszar and Derek Frankowski, the Java Post Aerial Photography crew shot this first commercial in and around the Waskesiu area of Prince Albert National Park. The park is actually a "drone-free" zone and Java Post Aerial Photography is the only commercial UAV operator to receive permission to shoot within the park boundaries.

Once the shooting was done, Java Post Production handled all the editing, colour grading, and final output of the finished commercial.

We even digitally removed a swarm of flies off a moose, which - believe me - makes for a very interesting answer to the question "So what did you do at work today, dear?"

Above left to right is one of the young actors featured in the commercial, along with our UAV technician/camera operator Trevor Bennett, our ground coordinator Crystal Van Pelt, and our head UAV pilot, Jack Tunnicliffe. It's not easy flying a UAV inside a forest (lots of pesky trees to potentially get in the way, you see) but we got some amazing shots.

Here's a "dronie" of Jack and Trevor as they bring our UAV in for a landing on a narrow wooden path, after capturing one of the commercial's spectacular aerial images.

There's not a lot of room for error on this landing site, but the Java Post Aerial Photography crew pulled it off with no problem.
