The numbers are in and audiences across all media platforms agree: Corner Gas: The Movie delivered a full tank!

Java Post Production is proud to be part of the Corner Gas: The Movie team - not only as a producing partner, but also providing the aerial photography, the visual effects, and the final colour correction and grading for the project.

Fueled by a forward-thinking, groundbreaking event distribution model over three weeks this past December, Canadians filled up on Corner Gas: The Movie on multiple screens: in-theatre, television, online, and DVD/Blu-ray. Each platform offered audiences a unique Corner Gas experience, engaging viewers in all regions of the country, starting with a Cineplex Front Row Centre Event and followed by premieres on The Movie Network, CTV, CTV Two, The Comedy Network, CTV GO, CraveTV, and finally a DVD/Blu-ray release. The result was maximum exposure for fans across the country.

THE NUMBERS:

Over the limited time eight-day theatre run from December 3-7 and 12-14, nearly 60,000 moviegoers attended the Cineplex Front Row Centre Event held in Cineplex, Landmark and independent theatres. Corner Gas: The Movie grossed $694,212, making it one of the most popular attractions of the year for a Canadian movie.

Following its theatrical release, Corner Gas: The Movie had broadcast premieres on The Movie Network (Dec. 8-13), CTV and CTV Two (Dec. 17), and The Comedy Network (Dec. 22), delivering a cumulative average audience of 3.3 millions viewers, with an overall reach of 7.38 million viewers who watched some or all of the movie.

The simulcast premiere on CTV and CTV Two had a final audience of 2.1 million viewers, up 14% from preliminary overnight data, making Corner Gas: The Movie the most-watched Canadian movie on TV in 14 years!

The live Tweet Up by the cast, producers and fans during the network TV premiere had the hashtag #CornerGasMovie trending worldwide on December 17th, and continuing to trend all across Canada the following morning.

An all-new ETALK preview special - ETALK Presents Corner Gas: The Movie - attracted 832,000 viewers, making it the highest overnight audience for an ETALK special this season.

Online, the movie was played 130,695 times on the CTV Network's digital platforms CTV,ca. CTV GO, and CraveTV. The website www.CornerGasTheMovie.com received 183,099 unique visitors, with 25,063 new email subscribers. The Light Up The Map promotion received 38,253 votes and lit up 83 cities across Canada.

From May 14th, 2014 to the week ending January 7th, 2015, the movie's FaceBook page saw 4 million impressions. On Twitter, the keywords @CornerGas, #CornerGasMovie and "Corner Gas" created an estimated 220 million impressions from 65,258 Twitter mentions - all by 34,797 users.

The DVD and Blu-ray released on December 16 has currently shipped nearly 56,000 units. Demand was so great additional units were produced.
